test: run the suite in check() instead of a version smoke test
...
md-fmt ships a self-contained test suite, so run it as the build's
verification rather than just confirming the binary prints its version.

fix: drop redundant Apache-2.0 license install
...
Apache-2.0 is a common license shipped by the licenses package under
/usr/share/licenses/common, so a per-package copy just duplicates a file
already on every system.
